Method
- Cut the tofu into about 8 slices and set aside.
- Add canola oil to a large pan on high heat. We want the depth of the oil to be about 1/2 inch.
- Combine all the breading ingredients in a medium sized bowl and whisk thoroughly.
- Dredge the tofu into the breading mixture, pressing it into the filets on all sides.
- Place the tofu filets into the oil and fry for about 8 minutes or until golden brown on both sides, flipping after about 3-4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel or a cooling rack.
Notes
DO NOT drain the tofu! We need this liquid to help bind the breading to it.
